Our Discord Server!

Conversation in the modern age

Since the earliest days of the technological age, conversations have had two variations: static and real-time. One could argue that they’re the same thing at different speeds. The decision to use a (private) Discord server allowed for all the perks of a modern communication suite (text, voice, and video, along with channels and private messaging) without forcing folks onto a particular platform where other noise can intrude (rhymes with Doodle and Grace Cooks).

We were hoping for an easy way to keep the connections live without forcing people to give away more private information (email addresses, home addresses, phone numbers, etc.) than they would like to. Discord satisfies that for us at a very affordable price.

We also wanted to ensure this space wasn’t just a place for folks to jump in and troll. Everyone on the server follows the basic rule of “one initial and one full name” (EG J. Doe or John D.)

Keep it real

We encourage everyone on Discord to install the app on their device so that, if they are contacted, they can know sooner rather than later and answer with the same response time that they would any other medium (text message, email, etc). Of course, you don’t have to and aren’t required to, but this is the real benefit and desired perk of having a server like this. But you do you, bud!

Invitations required

Eventually, the R3C will be membership-driven, and access to our Discord server will change (the free tier will only provide limited access to a few channels, and different tiers will grant greater permissions). That’s someday, so for now, just reach out to us on our contact page to let us know if you want access, and we’ll think about it… ;-D
